This is how I use your data
Knowing how well my website works is important to me. I want to see if more visitors navigate to my projects index from the home page or from the top menu.
To capture this info, I use Google Analytics and Hotjar to track how you use my website.
Data I track:
1. Session info: how long you spent on a page and where you clicked
2. User info: where you’re from, your general demographic profile
3. Device info: what kind of device are you using to look at this page (I need this to make sure i’m designing well for every screen size)
Data I don’t track:
Personal info: I don’t know what your name is, your professional title, or anything like that (because Google Analytics doesn’t track that, and I have no fields for you to enter any of that stuff into)
How I use your data:
Research and testing: I want to see if the way that my website is laid out makes sense. I want to see if you are looking at all of the pages, or getting bored and clicking away. I use this feedback to improve the website structure and design to make sure i’m putting my best foot forward.
What I don’t do with your data:
Sell it: This is a portfolio, so obviously I don’t display any ads on it, I would also never sell your info to data farms or advertising networks of any kind.
